Sorry that I’ve missed the updates from Monday and today. Working the equivalent of a full and part-time job has left me swamped this week. Luckily I will have time this weekend to get caught up and hopefully, ahead, on my work for the next week. Expect a new post this Friday!
Grab Bag Friday // January 6

It’s Friday! Time for a data dump of random things from around the web to inspire your communications through the next week.
Seven PDX
Could it be God is calling us to pray for the least churched city, in the least churched county, in the least churched state in America? Could it be the God of the miraculous is on the move, here in Portland? Could it be that Jesus lives in Portland? Churches from around the Portland area will be gathering, together as one family, to pray and fast for an awakening.
Brilliant stuff. Beautiful video too.

FINALLY. A good web interface for your Instagram account. You can “Like” photos in your feed, manage your pics, comment, and follow people.
Instagram continues to grow in the iPhone community and provides for new opportunities to connect with your followers in a meaningful way. At Remnant (http://remnantfamily.com), the youth ministry I work in, we’ve actually created an Instagram feed on the front page of our website. If you do the same, you can show your audience what things are like in the office, out in the field, or even personal things like a trip to the park with you kids. Either way, Instagram allows you to be even more relatable to the followers with whom you’re trying to communicate. Relatable = Trust In You and Your Brand

Now that you have a great way to view your Instagram posts on your computer through Ink 361, the next logical move would be to have them all made as magnets, right!?
… Just me?
Okay.
Sticky Gram will give you 9 unique magnets for $14.99, and right now they have free shipping. It’s pretty cool, especially if you’re halfway decent with an iPhone camera and haven’t gone haywire with the Tilt Shift feature. I’ve already ordered my first sheet. I’ll post how they turn out when they arrive.
Commitment

To my idea, I thee wed…
At least, I hope you’re committed to it. If you’re not committed to what you’re putting out there, then no one else will be either. People need to see that you love your product – whether that product is bringing people to Christ or something tangible like sand and gravel (shout out to my friend Ryan Dexter with that) – and completely stand by it.
And what better example of commitment is there than marriage? Well, in today’s society, there may actually be better ones… but for our purpose, we’re going to use the example of marriage.
My friends Geoff and Candice own a wedding videography company called Lunch Pail Pictures. They’re crazy talented at sharing the story of two people’s commitment to each other. Watch one of the videos below and try to tell me you’re not just a LITTLE bought in – even though you may have never met these people.
We as people LOVE a good story. Your audience wants to understand the journey of your product – whether it’s a marriage or anything else. Why do you believe in it? What inspires you to keep working hard? Share that with your audience, and they’re more likely to root for you moving forward.
What stories will you share in 2012?
